Do not use this crankset without the compensator ring or spacer of equal thickness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe installation manual shows the compensator ring being placed on the non-drive side cup, but it can safely be used on the drive side if you need a tiny bit of extra clearance.
